DONATED LUNG VENTILATORS BY CIMIC OPERATORS

Lebanon.

Four state-of-the-art lung ventilators have been donated by Multinational CIMIC Group (MNCG) operators, in addition to the machinery already present within the resuscitation and pneumology departments of the hospitals in Tyre municipality, some of the main health care centers in southern Lebanon most involved in the care of the local population affected by Coronavirus.

It is the response of the Italian contingent of UNIFIL, and in particular of the CIMIC cell composed by MNCG Operators to the appeal launched by the director of the public hospitals of Tyre, Mr. Mohamad Hamade, to cope with the Coronavirus emergency that has already recorded numerous victims in Lebanon. "According to data provided by the Ministry of Public Health, cases of Covid-19 positivity as a whole since the onset of the health emergency are increasing significantly, even more than in the past," explains the Mayor of Tyre, Mr. Hassan Mohammed Dabouq. "So we thank the Italian contingent of UNIFIL who moved immediately for this important donation that will allow the creation of two new stations strictly necessary and indispensable for the management of coronavirus patients".

"This equipment will allow us to modernize and enlarge the shock room of the intensive care of our hospitals that during the Covid emergency is the heart of resuscitation activities," says Qaemaqam of Tyre Mohammed Ali Jaffal. "We can finally count on a department ready to respond to the emergency of the territory."

The donation of lung ventilators, fully funded with Italian funds, is part of the civil-military cooperation projects that MNCG operators have been carrying out for years to ensure assistance to the Lebanese population in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 1701.
